Live-Action Kung Fu Panda

I was pretty dubious when I saw some of the promo art for this movie. It looked like a possibly culturally insensitive piece of exploitation.

Of course that was before I watched the trailer, which you can catch here:

Afterwards I found myself humming “From Chandni Chowk to China” all day. This Bollywood/Kung Fu mix looks to have enormous production values and a lot of humor (the protagonist finds Lord Ganesha in a potatoe, which he talks to).

Basically it’s taking the Kung Fu Panda idea of a slacker turned martial arts hero and putting it in a live action setting, and adding lavish dance numbers!

Sounds good to me.
